Granola Bars (stolen from Holly J.)

The granola bars are a base into which you chuck anything (fruit, nuts, etc):
2 cups oats
3/4 c wheat germ
1/4 c flax seeds
1/4 c crushed peanuts
3/4 c sunflower kernels
2/3 c brown sugar
1/2 c honey (more honey and less brown sugar if desired, play with ratios)
1-4 tbls butter
1/4 tsp salt
2 tsp vanilla extract

Toast the oatmeal, peanuts, wheat germ, flax seeds, and sunflower seeds for about 10 min or until toasted. Line 9x13 pan with waxed paper sprayed with Pam. In saucepan over med-hi heat, bring brown sugar, honey, butter, vanilla, & salt to boil, simmer a couple minutes, stirring the whole time.

Put wet and dry together, mix WELL. Put into pan and push down hard - this keeps it all together once cooled, let cool completely. Cut into bars on a cutting board and wrap individually.
